Hi Everyone. Welcome to our new EMQ’s interview with Swedish Hard Rock band Battering Ram! Huge thanks to them for taking part!

What is your name, what do you play and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?

Jonas Edmark (Guitar), Johan Hallström (Singer), Jocke Ståhl (Bass), Tony Trust (Drums).

Formed early 2017 with members from former Bullseye and different cover bands!

How did you come up with your band name?

Jocke came up with the band name, it suites our style of music, breaking in doors with a Battering Ram.

What country are you from and what is the Metal/Rock scene like there?

Sweden, tough to get gigs when you’re not signed! Many small bands fighting for the same venues!

What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single or Video)

‘Chase The Fire’ is our latest single of 6 released! Plus an upcoming record to be released 24th January!


Who have been your greatest influences?

Mostly Old school hard rock!

What first got you into music?

Playing vinyl records in the bedroom being influenced by your idols!

If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?

Bands in the same genre!

If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?

Sweden Rock would be awesome, then we would show Sweden what real hard rock sounds like!

What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?

Nothing odd just yet, but often a beer or two!

If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?

Stay true to Battering Ram and Keep rockin out there.

If you could bring one Metal/Rock star back from the dead, who would it be?

What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?

Playing live and difficulties getting to gigs!

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

Make it easier for smaller bands to be seen and heard!

What’s the best gig that you have played to date?

‘Putte i Parken’ in Karlstad was an awesome summer gig with a big enthusiastic audience!

If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?

Same as today, as we are not 100% fulltime musicians!

Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?

Here is one from each of us and one bonus!
Dio, Lemmy, Ozzy, Dimebag and Blackie!

What’s next for the band?

Release of the record and some gigs planned for the winter!

Spotify, Youtube and all the main streaming media out there!

Jaffa Cakes! Are they a cake or a biscuit?

Biscuit, but we are not sure, all we know is they don’t mix with beer.
