Hi everyone! Welcome to our new EMQ’s interview with Zamora, Spain based Melodic Metal band, Death & Legacy. Huge thanks to rhythm guitarist Jesús for taking part!

What is your name, what do you play, and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?

I am Jesús and I play rhythm guitar. I founded the band with Charly (drummer) in 2013, in Zamora, Spain. We are five friends, we played in other bands, other music, but we wanted to play together, it is very funny between us and we love the same music.

How did you come up with your band name?

In the first album, the lyrics tell a story about death, and about something very important for us. And we sing in English, so “Death & Legacy”.

What country are you from and what is the metal scene like there?

We come from Spain, and the scene is very rich in bands, artists, styles, languages, tours… but, it is a very hard music for popular TV and radio… there is no help for anybody… and now, with the Covid-19 pandemic, the scene is death.

What is your latest release (Album, EP, Single, Video)

We released our third album, “INF3RNO”. It was recorded at FINNVOX studios and the artwork was created by Gustavo Sazes.

‘Dead Soul’ (Official Lyric Video)

Who have been your greatest influences?

Classics bands, I learned to love the music and to play music too, like Metallica or Slayer

What first got you into music?

A new way of life, to express everything that happens in your heart, mind and soul. It completes me.

If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?

Metallica, of course.

If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?

Wacken, I think…the heaven on the earth.

What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?

The weirdest thing would be to receive a gift, in fact.

If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?

Fight for the culture, the music and live music… don´t let it die.

If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?

Not a Rock star, a Pop star, The King, Michael Jackson.

What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?

I hate every time in the office, with the computer, making tour-books, everything to management…But I love everything that it means to be on tour, the van, venues, hotels, playing, friendship…

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

More support to underground bands.

Name one of your all-time favourite albums?

Metallica – “…And Justice For All”.

What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CD’s or Downloads?

Every format has a nice view or point against the rest, but I learned to love this music from the cassettes.

What’s the best gig that you have played to date?

At a Festival, in a bullring with many thousand people. Amazing.

If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?

I think a worker in a milk factory, it is my work when I am not playing.

Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?

My band, for sure.

What’s next for the band?

To promote our recent album “INF3RNO” and to make a worldwide tour with it.

What Social Media/Website links do you use to get your music out to people?

Jaffa Cakes? Are they a cake or a biscuit?

I don´t know, it is the first time that I hear about them.

Thank you for your time. Is there anything else that you would like to add?

Thank you very much for all your work with the underground bands and all your fans for supporting them.
