Hi everyone! Welcome to our new EMQ’s interview with Klerken, Belgium based Hard Rock/Nu-Metal band, Liquid Therapy. Huge thanks to guitarist Gino Lippens for taking part.

What is your name, what do you play, and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?

Hey , my name is Gino Lippens (Gono for friends 😊) I play guitar in the band and did the recording and mixing of our album.

The band was started 2 years ago by me and Davy (other guitarist). So, we are a young band with a small history. Our ambition is bigger than our history 😊

How did you come up with your band name?

I came up with the word Liquid and Davy with Therapy. We found that together they are a nice name. With a wink to a pint.

What country are you from and what is the metal scene like there?

We are from Belgium. The metal scene is well known here. There are a lot of metalheads. There are a lot of metal bands, but Belgium is a very small country and difficult to break through.

What is your latest release (Album, EP, Single, Video)

That’s our debut album “Breathe”

‘Rat Race’ (Lyric Video)

Who have been your greatest influences?

We all have different influences. Motorhead, Seether, Metallica, Volbeat, H2O…will be the most important ones.

What first got you into music?

When I was 8 years , I started with playing the drums . After 2 years I started to play wind instruments and did that for a couple of years…that was the start.

If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?

For me personally, that would be Parkway Drive. I am a huge fan of this band. I’ve never seen a better live band than them, incredible!

If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?

OMG!! Wacken Open Air 😊😊

What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?

After a gig we played in our home town , there was a girl who asked to be my groupie, in front of my woman 😊 If that is a gift , I don’t know…

If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?

Keep on Going!!! It is one of our songs and live, always a party ! So, we would ask them to continue to support us like they do now. It brings the best of us upwards.

If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?

Kurt Cobain, it was a big loss!

What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?

The feeling on stage is a really good feeling, entertaining the audience…

I hate the hangover the day after a gig.

If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?

The business model, it is very difficult for young bands to survive and that’s, in many cases, a loss for the music scene.

Name one of your all-time favourite albums?

“Nevermind” by Nirvana.

What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CD’s or Downloads?

For the musicians, Vinyl or CD

What’s the best gig that you have played to date?

In our home town, the audience was incredible, and we played like we never did before.

If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?

Curing depression! I can’t imagine a life without music.

Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?

All the band members…and my wife (she will read this interview)!

What’s next for the band?

…Normally we would play next week a living room concert…now we have to wait until the Covid is gone…

What Social Media/Website links do you use to get your music out to people?

All the links to social media are on our website and you can order there our CD and merchandise.

Jaffa Cakes? Are they a cake or a biscuit?

Really???? Let me guess…a biscuit?

Thank you for your time. Is there anything else that you would like to add?

We would thank you very much for this interview and the support !! Stay safe!
