EMQ’s with REABILITATOR
Hi everyone! Welcome to our new EMQ’s interview with Ukraine based Thrash band Reabilitator. Huge thanks to bassist ‘Crazymetalliman’ and vocalist/drummer ‘Prasolov’ for taking part.
What is your name, what do you play, and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?
Crazymetalliman: We are “Reabilitator” thrash metal band. We started to play in 2010. It took us 2 years to learn how to play instruments and find all members for the band. Our first concert was played in 2012. We have recorded two albums “Global Degeneration” (2012) and “Social Programming” (2016) and made two D.I.Y. videos for the songs ‘Thrash Way Of Life’ and ‘Save Me God’.
How did you come up with your band name?
Crazymetalliman: There was a lot of bands and musicians in our city at that time, most of them played metalcore and some kind of nu-metal, and almost no one played old school music. So, we decided to name our band “Reabilitator” for the reason of rehabilitation of old school thrash metal music.
What Country/Region are you from and what is the Metal/Rock scene like there?
Crazymetalliman: We are from Ukraine. Our country has a lot of bands in different genres of metal. Most of them are underground bands like “Zombie Attack”, “Anmasker”, “Zlyden”, but we have a few band well known in the world like “Hell:On”, “Drudkh”, “1914” etc.
What is your latest release? (Album, EP, Single, Video)
Crazymetalliman: We released video for our new single ‘Save Me God’ a couple days ago.

Who have been your greatest influences?
Crazymetalliman: Thrash metal from 80’s: Slayer, Exodus, Sadus, Sepultura etc.
Prasolov: Also, young bands like Violator, Havok, Municipal Waste.
What first got you into music?
Prasolov: I don’t know. Feelings, I think. Music changes your feelings about reality.
If you could collaborate with a current band or musician who would it be?
Crazymetalliman: Violator. We love Brazilian metal scene.
Prasolov: Definitely.
If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why?
Crazymetalliman: “Wacken Open Air” because it’s iconic or “Obscene Extreme” because of its friendly atmosphere.
What’s the weirdest gift you have ever received from a fan?
Crazymetalliman: Chocolate candy and it was really tasty.
If you had one message for your fans, what would it be?
Crazymetalliman: Just be nice pancakes.
Prasolov: Live your life as you want.
If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be?
Crazymetalliman: Cliff Burton or Jimi Hendrix they both died too young.
What do you enjoy the most about being a musician? And what do you hate?
Crazymetalliman: We like an opportunity to travel somewhere and meet new friends and some interesting people. We like when people have fun when they listen to our music. It’s hard to find reasons to hate being a musician.
If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?
Prasolov: We are not strong to think about this because we live in the underground now. The industry is about money and commercial, but the underground is about people and music.
Name one of your all-time favourite albums?
Crazymetalliman: Metallica – “Ride The Lightning”
Prasolov: Slayer – “Reign in Blood”
What’s best? Vinyl, Cassettes, CD’s or Downloads?
Prasolov: There is no ‘the best’. But I prefer cassettes, since my childhood is connected with them.
What’s the best gig that you have played to date?
Crazymetalliman: Our last gig in Bulgaria. Cool bands, good music, friendly atmosphere.
If you weren’t a musician, what else would you be doing?
Crazymetalliman: Making 8-bit videogames.
Prasolov: I would paint. As a child, I drew a lot of skeletons and zombies, but then I gave it up.
Which five people would you invite to a dinner party?
Crazymetalliman: Steve Di Giorgio, Gary Holt, Tom Araya, Frank Bello, James Hetfield. It would be interesting to sit and listen how this bunch of dudes talk to each other and tell their life stories.
What’s next for the band?
Crazymetalliman: At the moment we are working on our third album “Mentally Defected”. It will include 9 or 10 good thrash metal songs. The sound quality will be better than the previous two albums. Also, we will record some singles (which will not be included on the album) and make some D.I.Y videos for them.
