Video Interview with Pete ‘Qualcast Mutilator’ Lee of LAWNMOWER DETH
By Simon Black
Hello to you all, It’s Simon…
It’s a funny old time, isn’t it? Nobody planned for all this, but then complete lack of planning has never been something to hold back Lawnmower Deth, who after all these decades are still with us, still daft as brushes and still making us smile.
On 7th July 2021 I had the chance to catch up with their singer Pete, who is full of enthusiasm for their recently announced, last minute & unplanned Headline show at Bloodstock in a few weeks, brimming with news about their upcoming, yet ultra-secret, first studio album this century and positively bouncing off the walls with enthusiasm for life in general! Enjoy!

Pete Lee, I see you in a whole new light now, you are now even more brilliant. I’m really enjoying your interview and am looking forward to buying your new album; I got Oh Crikey Its on cassette, it was top of my Christmas present list. Great to see the man behind the Lawnmower. You dual affiliation with punk/metal/comedy (certainly not parody, a parody is a copy and I found all your tracks to be most original – except can I cultivate your groinal garden when was in the young ones manual – lol) made an linking awareness of two genres, and think your link with Kim Wilde gave your band a public awareness; similar to when cannibal corpse starred in that Jim Carrey film! Good luck with the new album. Keep that material coming chaps, the world needs, as you said, more Lawnmower Deth albums
Thank you. glad you enjoyed the interview
